The Woman Behind WED

The fashion mind who gave us Fort Worth’s chic bridal boutique

When Irene DiVencenzo was a little girl, her grandmother taught her how to sew, and she remembers how much they loved designing handmade clothing together. Throughout her childhood, Irene knew she wanted to pursue design. Once she began her fashion design degree at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, she knew she made the right choice.

After graduating, she began an internship with DKNY in New York City – her first week on the job was during New York Fashion Week. After an amazing internship, Irene accepted a job with Ann Taylor Corporation on the LOFT division’s design team. She looks back fondly on her time in NYC, but her favorite part of living there was meeting her husband. “I had such a blast living in NYC,” Irene says. “[Living] there, I learned so much about myself and grew so much professionally. [These are] experiences I’ll forever be thankful for.”

Irene discovered her passion for working with brides after serving as a bridal stylist and has never looked back. Three years ago, she opened WED Bridal Boutique, a chic salon in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood. The boutique is a beautiful spot to find your dream dress and boasts an exceptional mix of gowns, bridesmaid dresses and accessories. “WED is a unique shop with an inviting environment,” Irene says. “We strive to make everyone feel welcome and have curated our collection to suit different styles from modern looks to your more boho-adventurous vibes.”

Brands include Lillian West, Watters, Élysée, Eddy K and more, in sizes zero to 32. Gowns range from $1,500 to $3,000.

We know you’ll love working with Irene and her team as you search for the perfect dress.
