Grant and Emma’s love story began at Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2016. Emma greeted Grant and mentioned her and her friends’ regular Thursday night outings to Billy Bob’s for dancing, catching Grant’s attention. Though Emma initially declined when Grant asked for her number, fate had other plans. A week later, Emma messaged Grant on Facebook, hoping for a dancing partner at Billy Bob’s. Grant quickly accepted the invitation, and despite differing accounts of that night, their connection continued to grow. A few weeks later, Grant surprised Emma by joining the same mission trip she was going on. Their bond grew stronger, and they officially started dating upon their return.
BRANDED LOVE Among the many unique touches was the family cattle brand, woven into various aspects of their wedding. From the programs to the cake, bouquet wrap, Grant’s cufflinks and more, their personalized brand left a mark on every detail. FASHION MOMENT Emma wore the Wtoo Montgomery gown in moscato, while the bridesmaids donned Revelry terracotta velvet dresses. Proper Texans, the groomsmen sported gray suits, white shirts and black cowboy boots.
For the proposal, Grant chose a meaningful location — Emma’s parents’ house in Fort Worth. Proposing on his birthday, he cleverly shifted their plans and surprised Emma with candles, greenery and Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” playing in the background. Through tears, and overwhelmed with joy, she said yes. Grant’s surprise didn’t end there; he revealed that a part of the ring came from Emma’s mother’s wedding ring.
The wedding embraced a Fort Worth fall aesthetic, featuring elements of boots, leather, the family cattle brand and gorgeous autumn hues. Sleeping at Last’s “Turning Page” played as Emma made her entrance, and the worship song “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury created a cherished moment of praise with loved ones. A cherished moment for the couple came when the wedding party prayed over them before the ceremony. “It was a precious time to have our closest friends and family send us off to get married, covered in prayer,” Emma says.
ICE ICE BABY The ice cubes featured the family brand, a hit among guests. BEHIND THE SCENES Event planner Tami Winn of Tami Winn Events brought Emma and Grant’s vision of a Fort Worth fall wedding to life, with stunning florals in mustard, tangerine, rust and sage.
